Chapter 5
Melanie looked at Thumper, Charzy and Shell Shocker, who were sleeping on her lap. She could hardly stand to think about how she had got into this position. She remembered it all so clearly. Megan was in the cell next to her. Who knew where Erick was.
It had all started when they went to Thunder city, which was deserted. They went into the town. Erick dared Megan to go into an abandoned building, hoping to tell Melanie how he felt while she was gone, but before they could start, they heard Megans scream. Melanie went pale, and Erick had to stop her from fainting. In an instant, they were knocked out. Melanie was sure it was a dream, but she thought she heard Erick say "i love you". No way! After that , she woke up. There had been a squirtle there, and it woke her up with bubble. The soft water tickled her face. The sad looking little Squirtle was caught and nicknamed Shell Shocker by Melanie. Megan had crawled through a tunel in the wall, and she said she thought that Thiunder city was a team rocket trap.
"The rocket gang is dangerous. They steal pokemon, and they will take ours. We are located inside somekind of barracks." Megan said. Squirtle said he had been found at the side of the road, abandoned by his trainer and left in the cell. Megan crawled back as Melanie was assuring Shell Shocker that she would never abandon him. A rocket came to the cell.
"Sit up, brat. Gimme your pokemon, in pokeballs." He said sourly. Melanie refused, and knocked him back with Shell Shocker's water gun, combined with pikachu's thunder from the next cell. He was knocked out. Melanie saw the keys he had.
"Wigglytuff, attacks pound, double slap, phsycic and metronome. A rabbit pokemon..." Said dexter.
Melanie had an idea. "Thumper, use metronome!" As soon as Thumper metronomed vine whip, they could get the keys. It took awhile, but they were out of the cell and looking for Erick in less than ten minutes. They found him, being beaten by some Team Rocket bullies. Nidoran was trying in vain to save him and he sat, covering his head in the corner, the bullies kicking and punching him and his nidoran. Megan and Melanie sent their pokemon against them.
"Stop!" Melanie called, angry at the thieving bullies.
"Who are you , his girlfrien--aaaahhhhh!" One of them cried, just before Thumper pounded him. Thumper winked at Melanie. The pokemon beat Team Rocket up, and Melanie, Erick and Megan left the building, Megan with a pichu she rescued, and Erick with a nidoran female, whom he had taken from a trainer who was locked in a cell that Melanie and her friends could not unlock.
"Please, give nidoran a good home. I have plans to escape with my friend chansey here. I will see you again!" He had said, smiling.
Erick, Melanie and Megan ran towards Shock City, where an Officer Jenny would help them. The kept walking, even though it was night, and arrived at the town at 5 am. "OFFICER JENNY!" They cried, running through town.
"What is it?" Said the shocked Jenny, who wsa in growlithe pj's. After explaining the story, Jenny called the police force through the area, and got dressed. The three friends were taken by motorcycle to the fringes of the city. They met up with the boy from the cell, who told Erick to keep his nidoran, and joined them.
They walked into the rocket headquarters with their pokemon, and battled and beat some rocket members. They slowly made their way up to the top floor, where the boss was. Megan and pichu helped chansey heal pokemon, while Melanie batttled like crazy.
After what seemed like forever, they got to the top floor of the rocket headquarters, where the boss was whipping two baby pichus.
"NO!" Shouted Megan.
The rocket leader smiled. "I was expecting you." He said camly, watching the approching pokemon. Just when they were about to attack, he jumped out the window. They gasped, then saw him fly away on a fearow. The pichus cried, scared of the boss, and Megan comforted them, in her favorite electric atmosphere. Jenny and chansey helped heal some pokemon, and they left the building. A few people crawled out of house. Officer Jenny mad the announcement.
"Team Rocket is gone" The town burst in to laughter and cheers, and Melanie, Erick, Megan and the boy, whose name was Wesley, were given a free stay at a pokemon/human spa ad hotel. They sighed, in luxery, and finally relaxing, and Melanie thought Erick looked better than ever.
They walked outside. Megan made up something she wanted to show to Wes, and she smiled at Melanie, and left. Erick turned to Melanie, smiling, but sighing.
He cleared his throaght. Looking from him to the sea, Melanie wondered what he would say. She looked at Erick, who was looking right at her. He looked mysterious, and a bit sad, and Melanie thought that he probably wanted to talk to someone about how much he missed and loved Molly.
Erick looked at Melanie.
"I have to tell you something" He said, staring at her beatiful face. "Melanie, I ..."
