Chapter 4
The pink flash came by again. The trainers stopped them the next time the pink came, and it turned out to be the clefairy and jigglypuff, only there was a wigglytuff with them as well.
"How cute," said Melanie, grinning. "Charzy, go!Fire spin!" The wigglytuff was wrapped in a cloud of fire. "Pokeball, go!" said Melanie. The wigglytuff wasn't caught. "Charzy, ember!" The poof of fire hit the wigglytuff, and she was dazedly caputured in Melanie's pokeball. "Yes! I caught a wigglytuff, named... Thumper! Thumper, come out!" She threw the pokeball and Thumper came out.
"I caught jigglypuff and clefairy!" said Erick, pleased. Megan caught a jigglypuff as well, but the last clefairy had dissapeared. Ericks clefairy struggled after a butterfly, but Erick hugged her tight. For a second, Melanie wished that she was that clefairy but she forgot about it for the time being. Thumper, healed by the potions Melanie gave her, was talking to Charzy, happily. Melanie sat down and tried to understand them. She could make out Charzy complimenting her, so she thanked him.
Erick spread out a map. "Where are we of to next?" He asked. They bent over the map.
"There!" Megan said. " That town, called Ruby Village. They have a fighting gym there!" They nodded in agreement and set of, but before long they had to set up camp, since it was dark, and they didn't know the way. Melanie slept beside Thumper and Charzy, and dreamed happily.
In the morning, they set of early for Ruby Village. Thumper knew the way once they got out of the forest, and Ericks pokemon, Nidoran male, could translate for them.
"Wigglytuff!"
"Nidor, an, nid"
"ok, that's left!" Erick said. He hoped that Melanie was impressed by how he could communicate with his pokemon, but she was avoiding his glance. 'What am I thinking, I love Molly! No, I broke up with her. I do like Melanie alot, but it's too soon.' He thought. Erick sighed.
"Tired?" Melanie asked.
"No, uh, I miss Molly" He said, thinking fast. Melanie sighed. He liked Molly. They walked on in silence. Wigglytuff anounced they had arrived and they all understood when she said that.
"WIGGLTYUFWIGUTF!" She said. They ran into town. They first went to the pokemon center, where to Ericks and Melanies embaresment, Nurse Joy said they looked like best friends already. Then they went to the pokemart to get supplies, and Melanie got a stuffed charmander and Wigglytuff. They headed back to the pokemon center and Megan and Melanie phoned Clefairy and Sarah, who they knew were staying at Melanies house. They told each other when to call next.
"See you at the pokemon league" they whispered, there final parting words every time they called each other, but this conversationn had been more interesting. Megan and Melanie told them about Erick, who was tiding there room, and Clefairy and Sarah told them about Jennifer, a short, hyper trainer who loved jigglypuff, and had one and a dratini. She was introduced to Megan and Melanie, and they both liked the looks of the fair skinned, blond, blue eyed pokemon trainer.
After they got off the phone, they picked up their pokemon and went back to their room to sleep. Erick was already in bed, slumbering peacefully. They all were asleep in a few minutes.
The next morning, They went early to the fighting gym. Megan went first, sending out her prize pikachu, who ko'ed the machop with a thunder that surged through the body of the fighting pokemon. She shocked her way through a machoke with her pikachu. They gave her a troublesome raichu named Thundertemper and a badge for her victory.
Erick's nidoran male put it's horn through a graveler and a machoke. He thanked them as he recieved the badge and stepped down from the battling platform.
It was Melanies turn, and she climbed nervously onto the platform, Thumper and Charzy waiting for her commands below. The gym leader sent out a large, unhappy, well, it was a... Melanie checked it on her pokedex, but it thought she meant Thumper. "Wigglytuff's attacks are pound doubleslap and psycic..." It started. Melanie did a doubletake about the psycic attack, then made the pokedex read about her apponent, a cubone. She grinned when she heard that cubones are weak against phsycic.
"Thumper, go! " Thumper phsyciced through cubone and Marowak, who was cubones evolved form. She got her badge and left the gym.
"Next stop, thunder city!"
