Chapter 3
The nurse joy looked at the girls solemnly. "How could you
let a pokemon get in this condition?" She said angily to
the girls.
"That arcanine isn't ours. We only found it a little while ago, already injured!!"Melanie said, indigant that she was accused of cruelty to pokemon.
Nurse Joy looked happier." Then you girls did all you could and I'm sorry I got mad at you" She said, a smile growing on her face.
Megan piked up her pikachu and asked if she could get it healed. Melanie asked about Charzy and Nurse Joy took the pokemon into the center to heal them. Megan and Melanie walked away and Melanie suggested that they go into a restaurant for lunch, and they both ordered chicken fingers. "So do you want to catch some more pokemon,Megan?" Melanie said.
"Yeah, maybe a little pichu, or a raichu, or possibly a pikachu. Of, course, togepi is cool too!" Megan said.
"Your head is always on electric pokemon! I want a vulpix, wigglytuff, clefairy, squirtle and bulbasaur. That's six!" Melanie loved all kinds of pokemon but wanted those ones the most.
They heard some loud squabbling from the next table. "You think what you like!" A voice said. "You quit that Clefairy!" Said another voice. Megan looked at Melanie and they walked to the table.
"Are you guys training pokemon too?" Melanie asked the two girls. The argument was lost.
"Yup." Said a brown haired girl with glasses."I'm Steph, but call me clefairy. I got 10 of 'em, well, no 2 are baby clefairy, and 2 are Clefable. This is Sarah, or vulpix, but call her idiot!"
Sarah hit Clefairy "You dummy! I train vulpix and growlithe and other fire type pokemon!" She said. Melanie and Megan introduced themelves and brought their food over to the table.
"Where are you from?" Megan asked Clefairy and Sarah. The girls hit it off and talked forever. They finished their lunch and walked outside.
After getting their pokemon from Nurse Joy, they looked at each other. "Arcanine!" Megan said, and they talked about on their way to the center. Arcanine was ok, and she and the growlithe followed the girls. Sarah adored them. They walked to the center of town. There were street signs all over. One interested the girls. It read: POKEMON GYM normal type. They followed directions until they arrived. Sarah challenged the leader, and won. Clefairy and Megan won too. Melanie prepared to battle.
"Go, wigglytuff!" The gym leader called. Melanie sent out charzy.
"Flamethrower!"
"Pound!"
"Ember"
"Doubleslap!"
Melanie won with a cry of "Scratch!" The four girls recieved badges and left the gym.
"Let's travel together guys!" Megan said, sounding excited.
"OK!" The other girls agreed. They walked of, in the opposite dirrection.
"Well, I guess this is goodbye!" Said Melanie, sad.
"BYE!" They chorused as they ran off.
"We will meet again, I know it" was the last that Melanie and Megan heard from Clefairy. They ran on, sad, scared and dissapointed. A voice cut through the silence.
"You two look like you came from a funeral!" A tall, good looking boy walked towards them. He smiled. It cheered up the girls.
"We lost some trainer friends." Melanie said. The boy looked like he understood. "I'm Melanie, and this is Megan"
"I'm Erick, and I know how you feel. I just left my girlfriend, Molly." He looked sad, so the girls tried to send him calming looks.
"I'm sorry" Melanie said, blushing.
Erick blushed too, and looked away. They got on another subject. 'Wow he is so cute!' Melanie thought, but she just smiled and nodded. They looked over the area they were standing in. Something pink flashed by.
"What was that?" Erick said, looking at Melnaie.
"I don't know" said Megan.
