Chapter 1
Melanie woke up and pulled on her trainers outfit. She sniffed it. Well, at least she smelt like a pokemon trainer. "pokeball go!" she thought, imagining what pokemon she would send out.
"MELANIE! I told you five times at least to come and eat!" Her mother said, growing impatient at her daughter's excitment.
Melanie bounded down the stairs with her backpack full and on her back. As she sat down her mother started to sniffle. "You look like I did on my first day of training!" Her mother said.
"I didn't know that you used to train mom!" Melanie said because her mother had never told her anything about training.
Her mother turned beet red. "Well, I got homesick and scared in emerald forest so I took my jigglypuff home and I've trained it here ever since" her mom said. Emerald forest was the first place after there town you could go.
Melanie ran to proffesor Athsley's lab. Proffesor Ashley barely had time to hand Melanie her pokeballs and pokedex before Melanie was saying "bye" and was out the door.
Melanie threw the pokeball and a charmander came out. It hugged her. Melanie turned to mush and hugged and talked to her for at least a half hour.
They walked into the forest and Melanie saw a flash. A small electric rodent and a rat ran past. The pikachu stopped. The rattata with her left. They continued on, the pikachu clinging to Melanie.
"Can I perhaps catch you, pikachu?" Melanie asked. It replied "pi ka pichu pikacu pi pika pikachu!" Which means roughly "I hate pokeballs so let me out quick!" Melanie caught him and the trio continued.
The girl and her pokemon set up camp and went to sleep. Melanie sighed happily.
